The government plans to improve the solidarity fund intended to support very small businesses facing the coronavirus crisis. He plans to integrate the management of rents, announced this Wednesday the Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire.

"The rents for example of shops, restaurants that can no longer pay, we could take care of them as part of solidarity funds for a certain number of particularly threatened businesses", he declared on France 2.

Supporting businesses threatened by bankruptcy

This solidarity fund set up by the State provides 1,500 euros maximum compensation for small businesses having suffered at least 50% drop in turnover compared to March and April 2019. It also offers assistance of 2,000 euros granted on a case-by-case basis for those threatened with bankruptcy. For the latter, "we could increase this ceiling to 5,000 euros precisely to be able to integrate the amount of rents," explained Bruno Le Maire.

"Second modification we are working on: taking care of (...) those who are on the verge of real difficulty, who are in receivership, who today really find it difficult to cope," he said. for follow-up. The minister also indicated that tax and social charges should be "considered for cancellations" for businesses threatened with bankruptcy, not just a postponement.
