The consumer price index (CPI) stood at 0.1% year- on- year in March, six tenths below the level recorded in February (0.7%), mainly due to the drop in fuel and fuel prices.

According to the leading indicator of the evolution of prices published this Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) , inflation adds two consecutive months to the drop and is again only one tenth above zero as it already happened in September and October from last year.

In monthly terms, prices fell 0.3% in March compared to February.
