To resume production of "White Lover" Hokkaido emergency declaration ends March 27 20:41

A confectionery maker in Sapporo has decided to resume production of its main product “Shiroi Koibito”, which had been suspended due to the spread of the new coronavirus, from the 1st of next month. The "Emergency Declaration" in Hokkaido has ended, and sales to local customers are expected to recover.

Ishiya Seika, a confectionery maker in Sapporo, has discontinued production of its main product, Shiroi Koibito, last month on May 20, claiming that tourists' demand for souvenirs has decreased due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

According to stakeholders, the number of products in stock has since declined, and since this month Hokkaido has completed an `` Emergency Declaration '' calling for self-restraint to go out, sales to local customers are expected to recover next month. It means that we have decided to resume production from one day.

However, we expect that full-scale recovery will take some time, and for the time being, we will operate only the Kitahiroshima City line out of the two factories in Sapporo and Kitahiroshima.

The company has put 310 part-time employees at the factory on standby due to the suspension of production, but will resume part-time work after the factory starts operation.
