Toyota Motor Kyushu has decided to suspend part of its production line for the time being as a result of a new coronavirus infection at a plant in Miyawaka, Fukuoka Prefecture.

According to Toyota Motor Kyushu, a male employee in his thirties who is in charge of the assembly line at the Miyata Plant in Miyawaka City confirmed on April 24 that the new coronavirus was infected.

This means that one of the two production lines has been stopped since the evening of the 24th.

According to the company and Fukuoka Prefecture, the employee had a fever symptom after working on the 13th of this month, but once the fever had dropped, he went to work with a mask on the 16th of this month.

However, on the 17th of the following day, he had symptoms such as fever again, and then he was taking a break from work.

The company has not yet decided on the time to resume operations, and is working with Fukuoka Prefecture to quickly identify close contacts.

The Miyata plant is one of the factories that decided to suspend operations for a certain period of time on the 23rd, considering that it is unavoidable that global demand for automobiles will decline due to the spread of the new coronavirus at Toyota Motor, We had decided to shut down some production lines until the 15th.
