El Corte Inglés, the company with the most workers on staff in our country (90,094) has submitted a Temporary Employment Regulation File (ERTE) as a consequence of the situation of unemployment that has caused the coronavirus pandemic. The group, which closed all its shopping centers except the food area, guarantees 100% of the salary to all the workers included in this process.

The company, recalls in a statement, accepts this measure enabled by the Government for those companies that, due to force majeure, have had to cease their activity after the declaration of the state of alarm.

This temporary measure "will have an initial duration of 14 days and will not affect employment, which will remain intact," explains the department store group, which ensures that it will complement the benefits received by employees (and paid by the state) to ensure that the 22,000 affected employees receive their entire salary.
