Spring is good in March, and there are no idle farmers in the countryside.

In March of this year, the spring was still there, the war "epidemic" continued, and the villages had not been unsealed. There were still many problems to be solved for spring ploughing. Can agricultural capital smoothly enter the village? Where does the market main body work? How to balance prevention and control with production?

With these questions in mind, in early March, a reporter from the Hubei Daily went to four non-infected villages in Anlu and Dawu for a visit.

Expect 5,000 tea pickers to arrive as scheduled

When: March 5

Location: Baiyuan Village, Sanli Town, Dawu

Village situation: Tea specialty village, with a tea plantation area of 12,000 acres, farmers who grow tea, more than 1,300 people in the village, no one confirmed or suspected case.

A truck stopped obliquely in the road, blocking the way into and out of Baiyuan Village.

Checking documents, measuring body temperature, registering, disinfecting, everything is correct, the staff moved to release.

"We have eight disease-free villages, Baiyuan is one of them, and it is still under strict control." Tan Taikuan, the party secretary of the town, introduced that there are 20 administrative villages and one neighborhood committee in Sanli Town, with a population of more than 20,000. All 4 confirmed cases have been cured and discharged.

The border between Baiyuan Village and Xinyang and Luoshan, Henan, with an average elevation of more than 600 meters, is suitable for growing tea. Wang Liangyun, a member of the town party committee and minister of armed forces, was the secretary of the Baiyuan village branch. He introduced that after more than 20 years of development, the tea plantation area of Baiyuan Village and surrounding Siaomiao Village and Sanli Village has reached 25,000 mu, forming a tea industry belt.

The car climbed up the winding concrete road. Outside the car window, there are tea gardens in the mountains and mountains, cascading and lush. In the wind, a touch of tea scented.

There are no tea farmers in the tea garden, and the tea factory door is closed.

"At this time in previous years, tea factories have begun to prepare for production. Affected by the epidemic, they have not moved yet this year." Wang Liangyun said as he bent down to observe the growth of tea. , You can pick it up in a couple of days. "

What worries Wang Liangyun most now is picking. "At the peak, more than 7,000 tea pickers are needed every day, and more than 5,000 of them are from Zhengyang County, Henan Province. They come on time every spring, and it has been more than 20 years."

This spring, Wang Liangyun was not sure whether Henan tea pickers could arrive as scheduled. "One is that I don't know when it will be unblocked. The other is that tea pickers have concerns and are worried about working in Hubei." Wang Liangyun said that he has been communicating with the other party over the past few days, but he is still uncertain.

Wang Liangyun expects that the disease-free village can resume production as soon as possible. At the same time, he hoped that the government and the media would increase publicity efforts so that people can fully understand the situation of the epidemic in Hubei and reduce concerns.

More than 50 pond weirs urgently need to be replenished

When: March 4

Location: Dongshan Village, Muzi Township, Anlu City

Village conditions: Traditional agricultural villages are mainly planted with rice. There are 1,163 people in the village. There is no confirmed or suspected case.

Hearing the sound of the car horn, Shen Lun, the village party secretary, slammed the double crutches, and laboriously removed the blocking point.

Before the Spring Festival, Lao Shen's gout caused joint synovitis and his legs were cast with plaster, which was taken two days ago. On a leg, he held on for more than a month.

When entering the village, the doors of every household were closed and no one was visible. On both sides of the road to the village committee, the villagers' gates were still blocked by iron sheets, bamboo sticks, and wire. "We are an epidemic-free village. We must guard against death, and we can't make a surprise." Lao Shen said.

Spring is here, and the fields in Dongshan Village are still yellow and rarely green. "Most of our fields are planted only once a year, and spring ploughing has not yet begun." Shen Lunsheng explained.

Speaking of spring plowing, Lao Shen is not in a hurry, he has the confidence:

The scale of land is high. There are 1163 people in Dongshan Village. More than half of them work outside the country all the year round, and land transfer is common. "There are more than 30 large households with a planting area of more than 30 acres, and the largest are more than 100 acres."

High level of agricultural mechanization. Anlu is a demonstration county for the whole process of mechanization of major crops in China. The comprehensive mechanization rate of rice cultivation and harvesting reached 76%. In Dongshan Village, only the Kangnong Agricultural Machinery Cooperative has nine sets of agricultural implements such as rotary farming, rice transplanting, and harvesting. In addition, farmers have more than 20 small agricultural implements. "After unsealing, we can plow the fields in a few days."

Shen Lunsheng's main concern is agricultural resources and water.

Before spring ploughing in the past, the seed stations and agricultural capital companies in the townships would hold training meetings in various villages to promote new varieties and new fertilizers. "We just placed the order and delivered it directly to the village. Nothing has happened this year."

The village weir also urgently needs water. Dongshan Village is a dry bun, and agricultural production mainly depends on more than 50 pond weirs. Before spring ploughing every year, the village will organize personnel to pump water from Pengjiayu to replenish the pond weir. "At least 60% -70% needs to be replenished to meet production needs. It is now less than 10%."

Anxious for the early entry of agricultural resources into the village

When: March 5

Location: Shuicheng Village, Sanli Town, Dawu

Village situation: The comprehensive agricultural development village involves vegetable and fruit cultivation and leisure agriculture. There are 1,328 people in the village. So far, there is no confirmed or suspected case.

After the stuck point of Shuicheng Bridge, the road conditions started to deteriorate, and the car bumped on the gravel road. "This is a temporary access road. The main road to the village has not been unsealed." Xu Shiquan, secretary of the village branch of Shuicheng Village, explained.

The sun is shining, and there are three or two villagers working in the fields. Xu Shiquan said that the village does not stop the farmers from spontaneous spring plowing production, but there are three hard requirements: wearing a mask; not being able to hire workers; you can find machinery to do the farming, but you are not allowed to manage the rice and "try to prevent people from gathering."

At the village industrial poverty alleviation base, Xu Dengyou is taking care of the newly transplanted eggplant seedlings in the greenhouse. "This cricket is gone, there must be some insects eating the roots." Lao Xu dug up the eggplant seedlings with a hoe to see if there were any insects.

Xu Dengyou is a poor household who established a file in Shuicheng Village and has mastered vegetable cultivation techniques through training. In 2018, the village transferred more than 40 acres of land from poor households, built vegetable greenhouses, and distributed them to poor households for free. Xu Dengyou was divided into 4 greenhouses, and his income last year was more than 40,000 yuan.

"Now cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes have been planted. In another month, you can taste the cucumbers I planted, but I can't eat them elsewhere." Xu Dengyou is optimistic about this year's vegetable market. The price will not be worse. "

Xu Shiquan was not happy. Miao planted, and now it is urgent to buy back pesticides and fertilizers. "The temperature is high, and it will soon enter the fruiting period. The fertilizer can not keep up. It only grows branches and leaves. If it does not bear fruit, it will be troublesome." "This spring, the climate is also abnormal, and the possibility of pests and diseases is high."

These days, Xu Shiquan has been contacting the dealers in the town. "They have no choice but to wait for unblocking."

Do not loose control, do not miss the agricultural time

When: March 4

Location: Zhouqiao Village, Yandian Town, Anlu City

Village situation: Vegetable specialty village, 90% of the land is planted with vegetables, 70% of the farmers are vegetable farmers, 295 households in the village, 1174 people, so far there is no suspected, confirmed case.

During spring ploughing season, winter vegetables such as celery, cabbage, and cabbage in the fields of Zhouqiao Village are still growing.

"Affected by the epidemic, they didn't sell, they were all old." Volunteer Bao Peng said sadly.

Zhouqiao Village is a professional vegetable village. Nearly 200 of the 295 households in the village are vegetable farmers. The vegetable planting area is 650 acres, of which 80% are vegetables in greenhouses. They are mainly sold to the vegetable wholesale market in Anlu District.

The epidemic had a great impact on Zhouqiao Village. "In the beginning, we also concentrated on the organization of more than 40,000 kilograms for export. After the village was closed, we had at least 100,000 kilograms of vegetables not sold." Village Party Secretary Bao Shili said that the villagers were very understanding and cooperative, and they took the initiative to the urban area. Hospitals and government agencies donated more than 20,000 catties.

A lot of vegetables were piled up in the front and rear of the villagers' houses.

Surprised that spring ploughing is busy, spring equinox seedlings are good. In the shed in front of Bao Shikai, a villager, the eggplants, peppers, and tomatoes on the seedlings were growing well and were already over an inch tall. "Transplanting before and after Qingming, will be listed in June." Bao Shikai's family of 5 people, who planted more than 4 acres of vegetables, earned 50,000 to 60,000 yuan a year.

"At present, no formal notice of resumption of work has been received. Vegetable farmers have resumed production spontaneously, and we have not stopped it." In Bao Shili's opinion, vegetables are the main income of the villagers and must not be mistaken; prevention and control of the epidemic is related to human life and cannot be relaxed.

Cultivating and preparing for farming, Zhouqiao Village did everything possible to buy back the seeds, and repurchased 15 tons of organic fertilizer, 10 tons of compound fertilizer and 15 tons of quail manure. "The seed fertilizer was basically solved."

To prevent and control, Zhouqiao Village strengthened check-point duty, and it was strictly forbidden for villagers to go out; at the same time, a picket team was formed to regulate villagers' production behavior.

In the next month or so, Jianqiao, Amaranth and Cucumber in Zhouqiao Village will be listed. Bao Shili looks forward to unsealing as soon as possible and returning to normal production and life.
