The United Arab Emirates has announced the suspension of all passenger flights coming to and from Italy with the exception of the capital, Rome, from "today" until further notice, as part of the precautionary measures taken by the Emirates to confront the new Corona virus (Covid - 19).

And the "General Authority of Civil Aviation" stipulated in a statement today that all arrivals from Rome International Airport must undergo accurate and advanced preventive medical examinations that are applied in the country's airports upon their arrival to ensure the safety of travelers from the virus.

The authority said that the decision to suspend flights came after a study and analysis of the current situation on the spread of the virus in Italy in coordination with international agencies and in cooperation with all concerned national bodies represented by the National Authority for Emergency and Crisis and Disaster Management and the Ministry of Health and Community Protection and national carriers each of Etihad Airways and Air And the Emirates.

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Authority and the competent authorities are constantly monitoring the situation in Italy to take appropriate decisions regarding all developments and developments related to the spread of the virus.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation called on travelers on flights affected by the decision to verify the status of their flights with their airlines to obtain updates in this regard.
