BOJ Temporary funding towards the end of the fiscal year Aiming to suppress market fluctuations March 13 21:52

The BOJ has commented that it will provide extraordinary funding towards the end of the fiscal year as stock prices plunge globally due to the spread of the new coronavirus and financial markets become unstable. The aim is to clarify the attitude of continuing to supply the market abundantly and to suppress the upset.

The Bank of Japan issued a comment at 5:30 pm on March 13 that it will "purchase additional unscheduled government bonds as necessary after next week."

From the end of the fiscal year onward, we have clarified our stance of stabilizing a market where unstable movements continue by providing funds to financial institutions.

The BOJ is increasing the supply of funds to the financial markets by aggressively purchasing temporary exchanges of government bonds and ETFs (listed exchange funds), which make a large number of stocks.

The BOJ's comment aims to reduce market volatility by clarifying in advance that additional funding will be provided next week and beyond.
