Al-Souqi added that the cooperative has new plans to expand in retail markets, including the establishment of a large shopping center in the Al-Rahmaniya area, in addition to a new branch in the Kalba area, and a branch with a “mini community mall” in the Zubair area.

He expected that these branches and centers would be completed and opened before the end of this year, raising the total number of cooperative outlets to 38 outlets by the end of 2020.

In turn, the director of supply and merchandise promotion at the Sharjah Cooperative, Rashid bin Howiden, said that the introduction of the spring vacation date for schools, and most customers postponing their travel plans recently, contributed to an increase in sales at the association's outlets during the past two weeks, with rates of about 10%, with an expected growth Sales in greater proportions during the coming period.

He added that the association has suspended the supply operations for a number of Chinese food commodities recently imported from some Asian countries, while providing several alternatives from Arab and European countries, noting that it is currently working on plans to launch offers for discounts before and during the month of Ramadan.
