The combined budget of the UAE, which includes the federal budget along with local budgets at the level of each emirate, achieved a surplus of 86.2 billion dirhams, for the year ending 2019.

The latest data issued by the Ministry of Finance revealed that the total government revenue during the past year amounted to 467.3 billion dirhams, compared to a combined spending of 381.1 billion dirhams.

The government’s financial statistics data showed that the revenue came from several sources arranged according to its contribution, which are taxes amounting to 224.6 billion dirhams and a rate of 48%, then community contributions of 4.8 billion dirhams, while other revenues contributed by 237.8 billion dirhams.

In the expenses item, the government’s combined government spending is divided into several items, namely workers ’compensation from salaries and others at a value of 107.1 billion dirhams, then spending on goods and services worth 115 billion dirhams, while spending on social benefits amounted to 75.6 billion dirhams. In the expenses item also, the government provided 25.4 billion dirhams in financial aid and 16.4 billion dirhams in grants.

The rest of the spending is divided into interest items, fixed capital consumption and other expenses.
