A poll conducted by the employment portal "Gulf Talent", revealed yesterday that 37% of the private sector companies in the country are planning to implement the working hours system remotely, to provide an opportunity for their employees to perform their jobs from homes, confirming that one third of the private sector companies in the GCC countries The six Arab Gulf states are now planning to direct half of their employees to work remotely, for preventive reasons after the spread of the Corona virus in different parts of the world.

The poll - which included 1,600 Gulf companies - expected 35% of Gulf-based companies to ask their employees to work from homes, 6% of them launched plans to work remotely, 5% confirmed that they plan to implement soon, while 12% of These companies are reviewing and feasibility of the concept of home-based business, compared to another 12% who had made arrangements to implement remote work prior to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

The portal stated that 54% of the companies surveyed confirmed that they had no plans or directions for remote work so far, while 11% of the companies rejected the idea from the beginning, noting that the Kingdom of Bahrain recorded the highest rate of remote work plans with 38% Of the companies, followed by the UAE and Kuwait with 37%, then the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (30%), while the companies in the Sultanate of Oman recorded the lowest rate of remote work possible in the region with only 18%.
