Sberbank, VTB, Alfa Bank, Raiffeisenbank, Promsvyazbank, MKB, Otkrytie, Pochta Bank, St. Petersburg Bank, RNKB and OTP Bank spoke about plans to completely abandon paper in the near future when concluding contracts with customers.
As the Central Bank press service noted, digitalization will increase the availability of financial services and the speed of transactions. At the same time, the conclusion of contracts without the personal presence of the parties is a risk-raising circumstance that requires increased attention from the bank in identifying customers.
In December, Deputy Finance Minister of Russia Alexei Moiseev called on banks and companies to ensure 100% security of biometric data that comes from customers. Moiseev clarified that with a leak of passport data, the document can be changed.
