State Minister for Food Security, Maryam Al Muhairi, stressed that food security is a special priority for rational leadership in the UAE, referring to the national food security strategy, ways to enhance the use of technology in the food production and management system, and the entire food value chain, in addition to engaging society as a basis for achieving security Food in the Emirates and the world.

This came during Al-Muhairi's review of the country's food security challenges, within the second session of the Gulfood Innovation Summit, which was organized on the sidelines of the events of the Gulfood Expo 2020, and topped its agenda of opportunities provided by the food sector in the region.

The summit formed a forum for rich ideas, insights and discussions, which were held with the participation of a group of experts and senior players in the food and beverage sector, who explored new opportunities and potentials for regional and global markets, in line with the logo of the exhibition at its 25th session, which is represented by "Food in a New Perspective".

The summit centered on a number of important issues in the sector, including emerging trends that will affect the pattern of food and beverage consumption, reconsidering the food sector to eradicate hunger, the use of artificial intelligence techniques to improve the performance of the sector, and other issues that have been discussed over the past days .

The summit witnessed a high-level opening, in light of expectations of its contribution to determining the path of the sector, and the opportunities available to companies specialized in food and beverages during the next decade.

On the other hand, the "fundamental changes" witnessed in the food and beverage sector in Saudi Arabia, and the positive response from consumers towards these developments, and the welcoming of the Saudi authorities to innovative companies in the food and beverage sector, was one of the main topics at the summit.
