The number of marriage contracts for non-Emirati Emirati citizens increased to 547 contracts during the past year compared to 524 contracts in 2018, with a growth rate of 4.38%, while the number of divorce certificates for the same period reached 132 certificates compared to 130 certificates with a growth of about 1.5% during the comparison period .
Data published by the Dubai Statistics Center, issued by the Dubai Courts Department, showed that last year, 152 UAE marriage contracts were registered for foreigners in 2019, compared to 177 contracts in 2018, a decline of 14%. On the other hand, the number of divorce certificates reached 47, compared to 35 certificates, with a growth of 34.2% during the comparison period.
The total marriage contracts registered in the Emirate of Dubai reached 4,598 contracts during the past year compared to 4444 contracts in 2018 with a growth of 3.4%, while the number of registered divorce certificates reached 1308 certificates in 2019 compared to 1321 certificates, a decline of 1% from 2018.
