The Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, has agreed to publish the so-called "fiscal balances", which measure whether there is an imbalance in the financing of the autonomous communities with the State, at the request of Junts per Catalunya. "No problem," Montero responded in the interpellation presented by the deputy of Junts per Catalunya, Ferrán Bel. This has ensured that Catalonia's "fiscal deficit" with the State is "16,000 million" and believes that fiscal balances will demonstrate the under-financing of that community. Montero has clarified that it will publish the fiscal balances "with the appropriate methodology" and has put as a condition "that it not be used as confrontation between territories". These data were initially published by the previous Rajoy Government, but Junts per Catalunya wants them to be updated to prove an alleged plunder of the State in their territory.

The minister seemed to reject the petition at the beginning of the interpellation, but has finally accepted after underlining Bel that if the Government refuses, the Catalan socialists and the branch of Podemos in Catalonia will incur contradiction.

The minister has taken the opportunity to request the support of Junts per Catalunya from the State Budget for 2020 and has ensured that "they will comply with Catalonia" by collecting more funding for the Mossos d'Esquadra and the percentage of infrastructure investments demanded by the Statute of autonomy Bel has replied that his group expects him to be consulted by the Treasury in the preparation of the Budgets and has stressed that the fulfillment of the commitments must be collected in full this year and not in several annuities as Montero defends with the regional administration.
