The Japanese Ministry of Health announced that 99 other cases of the new mutated coronavirus were recorded on the cruise ship Diamond Princess Quarantine in Yokohama Port, bringing the number of cases on board the ship to 454 cases.

According to the Japanese Radio and Television Corporation, officials of the Ministry of Health have so far examined 1,723 passengers on board the ship, which carries 3700 passengers in addition to the crew.
Of the 99 new cases, the ministry said, 43 were Japanese.

The quarantine was imposed on the ship on the fourth of February, in light of the growing concerns about the spread of the Corona virus.

China says more than 70,000 people have been infected with the virus so far, while the death toll has risen to 1,770 deaths.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that more than 200 Australian and New Zealanders are still stuck on board the Japanese ship, which will be transferred to Australia on Wednesday.

Those evacuated from the ship will be put in quarantine for 14 days at a camp in Darwin, where more than 260 Australians will be detained after returning from the Chinese city of Wuhan.
It is noteworthy that Australia recorded 15 confirmed cases of the virus.

The Hong Kong government has also announced that it will evacuate 300 citizens on board the ship, after tests prove that 10 passengers from the city were infected with the virus, according to the South China Morning Post.
