Yesterday, the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development signed an agreement with Facebook, whereby 1,000 female entrepreneurs in the UAE would be trained, free of charge, on business and establishing and developing small projects, with the aim of enabling and enhancing Emirati women's participation in entrepreneurship.

"The first batch training operations, which amount to about 50 female entrepreneurs, started yesterday, while the other batches will be trained during the next six months, after which the signature will be studied Other training agreements to support entrepreneurship in the country ».

Al-Nassiri explained that the training programs include female and non-members of the Khalifa Fund, as well as women entrepreneurs of different nationalities and in the various emirates of the state.

She added that the training services include how to develop small business ideas, and ways to develop projects to reach the global level, as well as benefit from the use of social media in the marketing and promotion of small enterprise products.

Al-Nasiri indicated that 35% of the beneficiaries of the services of the "Khalifa Fund", including financial, consulting and training services, are women, noting that the "Fund" received 20 thousand training requests, where 12 thousand Emirati women entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs were trained, 60% of them citizens.

She emphasized that the UAE is witnessing an increasing demand for entrepreneurship, especially from women, according to the statistics and data of the Global Observatory of Entrepreneurship, as 80% of women in the Emirates tend to launch their own projects as the best available career options.

She explained that, since its establishment in 2007, the Khalifa Fund has worked with more than 450 female entrepreneurs, while more than 316 million dirhams have been invested in startups, medium and small companies, founded or led by Emirati women, which contributed to the increase in the proportion of Emirati women entrepreneurs by 30 %.

The Khalifa Fund trained 12,000 entrepreneurs, 60% of whom are citizens.
