“IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva announced that Lipton will leave the fund at the end of February in the context of the changes she is making to the management team,” the statement said.
It is clarified that Lipton served as the first deputy head of the IMF for the longest time in the history of the organization - since September 2011.
In the near future, the organization will begin the search for candidates for his place.
It is noted that for a similar reason, the IMF will also leave the deputy managing director of the fund, the head of its administrative services, Carla Grasso.
