Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE, has announced the implementation of 3 measures for travelers to tackle the Corona virus, explaining that it is working closely with its strategic partners in China and Abu Dhabi to help limit the spread of the currently spreading Corona virus in China.
A spokesman for the carrier said that a meeting was held between all the concerned authorities, as the Health Department in Abu Dhabi gave instructions to apply thermal inspection procedures to all passengers and aircraft crews on flights coming from China.
The spokesman revealed that specific gates will be designated at Abu Dhabi International Airport for all travelers on flights coming from China, with special positions for all cargo planes coming from China, where the crew of the plane will be subject to the same procedures of thermal imaging that passengers are subjected to.
The spokesman added that Etihad Airways will cancel the re-reservation and cancellation fees for tickets booked before January 24, 2020 to travel to or from China between January 24 and February 29, indicating that guests who wish to modify or cancel their flights can contact the airline’s call center in the United Arab Emirates at The number +00971600555666 or on the number +00864008822050 in China or with the travel agent if they do not book directly with Etihad Airways.
