The fourth vice president and minister for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITERD), Teresa Ribera, has described as "interesting debate" the different proposals in Europe that plan to put new taxes or fees on those who travel by plane which, in their opinion, is "who has more resources or are banknotes borne by the company", so he believes that this option "may be reasonable."

However, in statements to Onda Cero collected by Europa Press has indicated that the MITERD is working on the "debate of environmental taxation" with the Ministry of Finance that oversees the review process to do so with an "overview."

In that sense, he has set an example in which Spain can be "fixed" in France, which has just imposed "unilaterally" a tax on its aviation, and points out that this can even mean a "new income for the budget of The EU".

On the other hand, regarding the proposal of the mayor of the City Council to use the train in front of the plane between Madrid and Barcelona, she thinks that one of the most interesting questions is the "change of patterns and priorities" of the people, something that It looks simpler and more accessible than "putting bans."

In fact, it has highlighted the growing current in a good number of European countries, in particular the Nordic ones, which ask for the use of less polluting alternative transports and ensures that the plane has registered a "lowering of tickets" on medium-distance journeys.

"It is possible that the same thing happens here. That destinations such as Madrid-Barcelona and Valencia, Madrid-Seville are destinations in which the weight of the train is gradually increasing, therefore, rather than imposing prohibitions, quality alternatives must be provided and reasonably priced ", has added.

In that context, asked if the president of the Government Pedro Sánchez could set an example and move by train instead of a plane on some routes, Ribera has bluntly said that "the president, like all the presidents who have been in his position before , he moves so that his entourage deems more convenient at all times sometimes he goes by train sometimes by plane ".

The fourth vice president has defended that the agenda of the presidents is "always complicated" and he is "a person who likes to be on the ground when there is a problem" and "make see the weight and priorities and potential of Spain both inside and outside. "
