The one who was president of El Corte Inglés and until now CEO of the group , Jesús Nuño de la Rosa, has reached an agreement with the group of department stores to leave the company, as the company announced in a statement. Both parties "have reached an agreement whereby the latter will voluntarily abandon all their positions and functions in the El Corte Inglés group," cites the note.

Nuño de la Rosa was CEO and president of several subsidiaries. He was appointed president in 2018, after the dismissal of Dimas Gimeno , and held the position until Marta Álvarez was appointed president last spring.

Sources close to the group highlight that it has been a personal decision of De la Rosa and agreed in a friendly manner . The agreement between both parties, "agreed in a climate of friendship and maximum cordiality, has been approved by the Board of Directors of El Corte Inglés, following the favorable report of the Appointments and Remuneration Committee," the group said.

"The English Court thanks Jesús Nuño de la Rosa for his dedication, dedication and loyalty in all the positions he has held in the Group throughout his extensive professional career," says the company's statement.

De la Rosa arrived at the group in a convulsive period, after the termination of Gimeno by the board of directors and after many months of clashes for power between Gimeno and her cousins, Marta and Cristina Álvarez, daughters of former President Isidoro Álvarez.

De la Rosa, who was the fifth president of the group and the first who did not belong to the founding family , led the company in that transition period until Marta Álvarez was appointed to office last spring.

From then on he held the functions of CEO and was in charge of several subsidiaries, although the other delegated director, Víctor del Pozo, was in charge of the retail business.
