The company urged consumers to stop using it and return the product and recover its price even if the purchase receipt is not available, explaining that the purchase receipt is not necessary to recover the price of the cup

The company stated on its website that the latest inspection reports indicate that the product may filter levels of chemicals that exceed the prescribed limits. Therefore, IKEA urges customers who have a travel cup to return the product to any IKEA store to get a full refund

IKEA noted that it takes product safety very seriously as all types of IKEA products are tested continuously and must comply with the applicable standards and legislation as well as with the specific requirements of IKEA, noting that it has recently received examination reports that show that the travel cup may filter levels of phthalates Diputyl (DBP) exceeds established limits.
