Four sources said that Emaar Properties will sell the observation platform in Burj Khalifa, the highest skyscraper in the world, which could generate $ 1 billion for the largest real estate developer in Dubai.
Two sources said that Emaar commissioned "Standard Chartered" to advise in selling "the top of the tower", which is one of the attractions that attract tourists.
Emaar and Standard Chartered declined to comment.
The height of the Burj Khalifa is 828 meters, almost twice the height of the Empire State Building in New York and about three times the height of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
The summit of the tower is a popular tourist attraction in Dubai, attracting 15.92 million visitors in 2018.
A banking source said that the monitoring platform generates between 600 and 700 million dirhams ($ 163-191 million) annually.
A financial source estimated the value of the platform at about one billion dollars.
The last two sources refused to reveal their names because the deal was not announced and said that the sale began last November.
Dubai is a regional hub for tourism, foreign trade and business sector services. Dubai formed a planning committee in September to legalize real estate projects and avoid competition between semi-government and private companies.
