From November 15 to December 13, the Emirates Air Cargo operated 9 charter flights to transport Chilean cherry exports from Santiago to stations in East Asia, including Shanghai, Hong Kong and Seoul. The nine flights carried more than 850 tons of cherries on the Boeing 777 freight planes, each with a tonnage of about 100 tons.

Cherry is one of the most important exports of fresh produce from Chile. During the last fiscal year 2018/2019, that country exported about 180,000 tons of cherries to global markets, and it is expected that the volume of exports will exceed this number during the current season.

Emirates Air Cargo plays an important role in facilitating the delivery of Chilean products to various regions of the world, as it provides the fastest way to transport these exports by air to its main markets in East Asia. During its first year of operation in Chile (from July 2018 to June 2019), it helped export more than 4,000 tons of Chilean salmon to China and other markets around the world. In addition to cherries and salmon, Emirates Air Cargo helps Chilean exporters transport their other fresh produce, including berries and grapes.

The carrier provides a specialized solution called "Emirates Fresh" which ensures that fresh fruits and vegetables and other products keep their freshness during the journey from the source to its final destination. This product supports the strength of the Emirates’s modern air cargo fleet of 270 wide-body aircraft, innovative equipment including refrigerated containers and white packages, as well as the modern infrastructure that includes great facilities in Dubai. During the past fiscal year, the Emirates has shipped more than 400,000 tons of quick-dry products worldwide.

Emirates Air Cargo operates regular cargo flights to more than 40 international destinations every week, in addition to operating charter cargo flights on demand. In South America, the airline operates regular cargo flights to Brazil (Viracopos) and to Ecuador (Quito).

Emirates Air Cargo is the largest operator of international air freight operations in the world, as it connects freight customers in more than 155 cities across six continents. The airline uses the Emirates airline fleet of 270 aircraft, including 12 cargo aircraft (11 Boeing 777 and one Boeing 747F). During the past fiscal year, it transported 2.7 million tons of cargo.
