The General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunications Sector in the state said that there are 3 main sites that are completely covered by the fifth generation network in the country currently.

The authority indicated that two of these sites are in Dubai, namely Burj Khalifa and the Global Village, while the third site is in Abu Dhabi, which is the Etihad Airways Grand Prix Formula 1 site.

Explaining that these sites are 100% covered by the fifth generation network.

The organization of communications confirmed in a bulletin on social media, that the Dubai Expo 2020 will be the largest site in the country covered by the fifth generation network immediately after its establishment.

Noting that the preparations are currently taking place in full swing with the two operators, Etisalat and Du, in order to equip the site with all the preparations and technical equipment required to fully operate the fifth generation network, coinciding with the start of the exhibition works next October and for a period of six months, which attracts millions of visitors.

She noted that the coming period is witnessing a significant increase in the number of sites completely covered by the fifth generation network.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority indicated that many of the country's residents do not yet know that the fifth generation network is already operating in the country since last year and that the network has been commercially operational since 2018.
