The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority said that consumer prices in the country declined by 1.9% annually in October, compared to the same month in 2018.
In the report “Inflation during October 2019” issued today, the authority covers the change in the prices of 12 main commodities and services to the consumer, that the general index of consumer prices reached 108.3 points in October 2019 compared to 110.4 points in October 2018.
The report indicated that the annual consumer price decrease came as a result of a decrease in the prices of the transport services group by 5.3%, a decrease in the prices of the clothing and shoes group by 5.8%, the prices of the housing, water, electricity and gas group by 4.3%, and food and beverages by 1.8%. The prices of the hotel group decreased by 0.6%, the group of supplies and household equipment and the communications group by 0.2% each.
On the other hand, the prices of the recreation and culture group increased by 23.2%, the group of miscellaneous goods and services by 1.5%, the education group by 0.7%, the tobacco group by 0.6%, and the health services group by 0.02%
