“The response stated that the parties should continue to discuss the continuation of transit according to European rules in a trilateral format with the participation of the European Commission,” the top manager wrote.

According to him, the Ukrainian side allows the conclusion of a contract for one year, but the conditions must comply with European rules.

He also noted that Naftogaz was ready to consider the option of Gazprom paying $ 3 billion by arbitration in the form of supplies for this amount.

Previously, Gazprom sent Naftogaz a proposal to extend the existing transit contract for a year or enter into a new one.

The head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine Oleksiy Orzhel called the proposal unacceptable. In turn, Vitrenko announced his intention to discuss it in a trilateral format.
