“If there is transit, if we succeed in signing an agreement, then gas prices for the population will reach their historic minimum as early as January 1, 2020,” Gromadske quoted him as saying at the presentation of the work priorities of the Ministry of Energy for 2019-2020.

According to him, Kiev is doing “everything possible” for this.

In particular, he recalled the creation in Ukraine of its own GTS operator for the possibility of gas transit “according to European rules”.

At the same time, Orgel said that the Ukrainian government does not plan to regulate gas prices for the population from January 1, 2020.

Earlier in Ukraine, it was announced that the separation of Naftogaz from the gas transportation system is expected until December 26 of this year.

Orzhel also called the absolute priority for Ukraine the signing of a contract with Gazprom until the end of 2019.
