“In October 2019, according to preliminary results of a sample labor force survey, 3.5 million people aged 15 years or older, or 4.6% of the workforce were classified as unemployed (in accordance with the methodology of the International Labor Organization),” report.

It is noted that, according to Rostrud, 0.6 million people are registered as unemployed in the employment service authorities, including 0.5 million people who received unemployment benefits.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that unemployment in the country amounted to 4.6% of the economically active population.
