A spokesman for the IDF admitted that this was a mistake. The Israeli military was targeting an infrastructure belonging to a senior Islamic Jihad leader named Rasmis Abu Malhous, suspected by the Israelis of being the head of the rocket unit within the organization. A building that was located in Dir el Balah in the center of the Gaza Strip.

And still according to this same military source, the Israeli army did not know that the building housed a family of eight members who were all killed in the strike. The events took place a few hours before the entry into force of a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Islamic Jihad and were revealed by the daily Haaretz .

Investigation

The Israeli army says it has opened an investigation and says its fighters are doing their utmost to avoid touching Palestinian civilians. She talks about surgical strikes , but we can only note that in all the operations carried out in Gaza by the Israeli army there have been such burrs.
