Passenger traffic through Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai World Central reached about 1.3 million passengers during the first nine months of this year, an increase of 99.4% compared to the same period last year, despite the seasonal contraction in traffic during Third quarter.

According to Dubai Airports, South Asia was the single largest contributor to traffic at Al Maktoum International Airport in the first nine months of this year, with a total

379 thousand and 851 passengers, followed by travelers from the Commonwealth of the Russian Federation with a total of 313 thousand and 167 passengers, then the GCC countries with a total of 281 thousand and 184 passengers, then travelers from Eastern Europe with 127 thousand and 87 passengers, and Western Europe with a total of 105 thousand and 906 passengers.

At the international level, Russia ranked first with 294,145 passengers, followed by Saudi Arabia with 201,138 passengers, India with 193,900 passengers and Pakistan with 107,112 passengers.

In terms of cities, Moscow came first with 166,412 passengers, followed by Jeddah with 55,873 passengers and Karachi with 39,762 passengers.

Air traffic and freight

In addition, Al Maktoum International Airport recorded a total of 5,948 air traffic movements during the third quarter of this year, an increase of 3.6%.
