The war continues in Yemen, but this Tuesday, November 5, one of the conflicts that undermine this country has been settled by the signing of an agreement. Southern separatists and the government camp formalized their reconciliation at a ceremony in Saudi Arabia.

This agreement, announced at the end of October, should allow a return to calm in the southern part of Yemen. It provides for the formation of a new government and the return of it to Aden, the big city of southern Yemen.

Last August, the southern separatists took control of Aden after fights against the loyalist troops of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi. The country saw then open a new front since these two forces were hitherto allied in the fight against the rebels Houthis.

It is therefore a reconciliation that was sealed on Tuesday in the presence of the princes Mohammed ben Salman of Saudi Arabia and Mohammed ben Zayed of the United Arab Emirates. The two strong men in the MBS and MBZ region have ended an embarrassing crisis for their two countries as Riyadh is the main supporter of the loyalist camp in Yemen while the UAE is close to the southern separatists.

The agreement signed on Tuesday does not concern the Houthi rebels of Yemen who still control vast territories including Sanaa , the capital.
