Gazprom has completed the Power of Siberia gas pipeline from Russia to China. This was reported in the press service of the company. It is noted that fuel from the Chayandinskoye field in Yakutia was brought to the border gas metering station in the Blagoveshchensk area.

“Thus, the linear part of the gas pipeline is prepared for the start of pipeline deliveries of Russian gas to China,” TASS quoted the message.

Gazprom emphasized that in the next stage, the cross-border crossing through the Amur will be filled with gas. At the same time, the beginning of deliveries to China is scheduled for December 1.

The filling itself began in late summer. This was announced on August 29 by the head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, during the First Oil and Gas Forum of the Republic.

“Our forum is taking place ahead of the launch of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline,” he said. - And today I can say that just yesterday the filling of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline began. From the first of December of this year, we are sure that the grandiose pipeline project will work, which will be the achievement of our entire great country. ”

And on October 11, Gazprom announced that gas was filling in accordance with the schedule. At the same time, part of the work was carried out ahead of schedule.

“It takes place in extreme climatic conditions”

Recall, the Power of Siberia gas pipeline runs from Russia to China. This is a joint project of Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). It begins with the Kovytkinskoye gas field, passes through the Chayandinskoye field, then comes to the Amur gas processing plant and from there passes through the Chinese side.

The total length of the gas pipeline is about 3 thousand km. Design export capacity - 38 billion cubic meters of gas. The agreement between the Russian and Chinese sides was signed in 2014 for a period of 30 years. In the same year, construction began.

At the same time, Gazprom emphasizes that construction is under extreme conditions.

“The gas pipeline route runs in extreme climatic conditions, overcomes wetlands, mountains and seismically active territories, areas with permafrost and rocky soils,” the company’s website says.

So, the absolute temperature minimum is from -62 ° C in Yakutia to -41 ° C in the Amur region.

The Chinese part of the pipeline begins in Heihe - a city located on the border with Russia, opposite Blagoveshchensk. From there, she will lead to Shanghai. The total length of the route is approximately 3.3 thousand km. Construction began in 2015, and the launch is scheduled for 2019. At the end of September, it became known that China had completed the construction of compressor station N0 to receive the Russian gas pipeline.

It is noteworthy that along this route “blue fuel” will be supplied not only to China, but also to Russian consumers in the Far East.

The Power of Siberia will contribute to the socio-economic development of the Far East. The gas pipeline will create conditions for gas supply and gasification of the Russian regions, the development of modern gas processing and gas-chemical industries, ”Gazprom said.

"Power of Siberia" can pump more "

During the first six months after the start of supply, the gas pipeline will operate in commissioning mode. This was announced in September by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak.

“From December 1, really ... in strict accordance with the gas purchase and sale agreement on this route, gas supplies will begin, but in the first six months, within six months, as stipulated in the sale and purchase agreement, in the equipment commissioning mode,” he said it.

During this period, it is impossible to establish guaranteed volumes of daily supplies, the Vice Prime Minister noted.

“Of course, questions are being raised so that these are guaranteed volumes, daily volumes of gas supplied. But this is impossible. And it is not required in accordance with the contract, and it is impossible objectively for technological reasons, because it is impossible to guarantee anything in the commissioning mode, ”he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that Power of Siberia could supply more than 38 billion cubic meters of gas annually. He also said that negotiations are underway on the construction of another gas pipeline to China - along the western route.

“38 billion deliveries per year is a large volume. The “Power of Siberia” can pump even more, and China needs a larger volume, so we are currently negotiating the possibility of building a western version of the same route. We move gradually, calmly. We see the needs of the Chinese economy, ”he said on October 2.
