Nicolas Barre, director of Echoes , details this Thursday a promise of Emmanuel Macron which will see the light of day very soon: unemployment insurance for employees who have resigned.

This is a promise of Emmanuel Macron who has experienced many vicissitudes but which finally materializes: granting unemployment insurance to employees who resign.

This flagship promise will take a long time to materialize. And for good reason ! It was formulated so, say, a bit risky: "We will open the rights to unemployment insurance to employees who resign," said the program of the candidate Macron. Well, two and a half years later, the reality principle has passed by: there is no question of opening unemployment insurance to all employees who resign, the system would not survive. The law on labor market reform has therefore very seriously framed things. And it is only today that the texts of application are finally published so that this promise becomes reality.

And it will require many conditions to qualify for unemployment.

The resigning employee must have worked continuously for the last 5 years, he must present a conversion project requiring training or a business creation project. He will have to detail his motivations, the necessary skills, the characteristics of the profession, the type of training required, the prospects of his new job. And finally submit his file to a professional advice (free) and then go before a regional commission that will check if the project is serious. Ditto for a business creation project. In short, you see, there is no question of opening the floodgates of unemployment insurance to all those who resign. It will take a really good project. The whole will come into effect in a few days: November 1st.
