Today, we announce whether the government will maintain its status in relation to the World Trade Organization (WTO) developing country status.

The Ministry of Strategy and Finance today will hold a meeting of the Minister of Economic Affairs at the Seoul Government Complex, presided over by South Korea's Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-gi, to announce the government's final position on the relinquishment of the status of developing countries, which US President Trump demanded in July.

If it gives up its status as a developing country, peasant groups and others are likely to be strongly opposed.
