Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), during its participation in the exhibition «GITEX Technology», on the implementation of an intelligent system to reduce water waste in homes, by detecting cases of leaks, and reported within 48 hours, instead of 29 days earlier, noting that The innovative technology saved about 300 million gallons of water, and more than 16 million dirhams was the cost of diversion annually, pointing out that about 77 thousand customers benefited from this service, stressing that the amount of water saved in 12 months is equivalent to saving about 180 thousand trees.

The idea of smart service depends on sending text messages to the customer, stating that there is a leak in the water in his home, if monitored by the smart system, in order to rectify it in turn as soon as possible.

DEWA confirmed its dependence on advanced water meters infrastructure, where it uses artificial intelligence techniques, which translates the strategy of developing the pre-emptive solutions adopted by the Authority, through a notification of high water consumption that helps dealers to detect any leaks in water connections after the meter. Send notifications to the customer in case of detection of smart meters system, ie an unusually high consumption.
