“Such statements are common for the energy leadership of a country that is interested in changing gas prices. But the fact is that alternative ways of supplying gas to Poland, especially with regard to LNG, will be much more expensive. They do not withstand price competition. Nevertheless, Poland, like any other country, wants to bargain for itself favorable conditions. I think that in the long term, Warsaw will not give up Russian gas. Political statements are one thing, and the economy is another, ”said the deputy.

Seleznev also noted that it is beneficial for the country to provide its citizens with gas "at an affordable price."

Naimsky said earlier that Poland plans to completely abandon Russian gas by the end of 2022.

According to him, so far the country receives most of the gas from Russia, but soon the new LNG terminal in иноwinoujцеcie and the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline will become an alternative to Russian deliveries.
