Al Suwaidi stressed that the GCAA is continuously following up with the national airlines on the safety of its aircraft and operations, and is in direct contact with the aircraft factories and aviation authorities responsible for licensing the design and production of all aircraft registered in the UAE to provide maximum safety.

He said that the safety of passengers is a top priority for the Authority, which does not hesitate to take any measures that support safety in the air and land.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Tuesday asked US airlines to examine 165 Boeing 737 NG aircraft within seven days for the appearance of cracks in a few of the models in a modified body in China.
