Carlos Slim gains strength in Prisa, publishing group of El País and Cadena Ser among other media. The Mexican magnate, one of the five richest men in the world, already accumulates 4.3% of the Spanish group, above the last attributed figure, 2.82% dating from 2014.

Slim, which participates in Prisa through Inversora Carso, has added a participation of 30.5 million titles, as that group has communicated to the CNMV. Thus, Slim becomes the seventh largest investor of the company, above the Spanish companies such as Banco Santander.

Currently, Amber Capital (29.8%) Telefónica (9.4%). HSBC (9.1%), Rucandio (the Polanco family with 7.6%), Qatari Sheikh Khalid Al-Thani (5.1%) and GHO (Roberto Alcántara with 5%) accredit a participation greater than the Slim, which is also the main shareholder of The New York Times .

Slim's Carso has taken over a package of shares from the International Media Group (IGM), the fund led by the Sheikh of Qatar Al-Thani, adviser to Prisa and a member of the royal family of that country. Al-Thani maintains its position in the governing body of the entity, which at the moment Slim would not access.

According to Forbes, Slim has a fortune of 64,000 million dollars that would place him as the fifth richest man in the world. Its main asset today is the telecommunications company America Movil, present in almost all of that continent.
