While Israeli voters vote on Tuesday, Sept. 17 for new parliamentary elections, the government of Benyamin Netanyahu has given Sunday, September 15, the green light for the legalization of a wild colony in the West Bank.

Colony established in the occupied West Bank without authorization from the Israeli authorities, Mevoot Yericho has just been officially recognized by the government of Benyamin Netanyahu.

The decision was taken at the last cabinet meeting ahead of Tuesday's legislative elections, which is expected to be tight between Netanyahu's Likud and his main opponent, the centrist list of the former head of state- Major Benny Gantz. The government has met exceptionally in the Jordan Valley, the region of the West Bank where the Israeli prime minister has promised in recent days to annex all the colonies if he is returned to his post.
