Violations of the truce observed for nearly two weeks in Idleb are increasing, threatening a resumption of fighting. This Friday, September 13, at least one civilian was killed and six others wounded in the bombings that targeted several regions, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH).

After an interruption of more than ten days, Russian planes resumed their raids early Friday against jihadist- controlled areas in Idleb province. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and media sources close to Damascus, fighter-bombers who took off from the Russian base in Hmeimim, western Syria, shelled three localities in a mountainous area in ldleb .

A few hours earlier, Syrian planes raided a base of the Turkestan Islamic Party, made up of jihadists from the Chinese province of Xinjiang, Uzbekistan and other former Soviet republics.

More than 4,100 civilians killed in four months

Artillery duels also unfolded this Friday with the Syrian army firing more than a hundred shells and rockets against the strategic city of Maaret al-Nohman and surrounding areas in Idleb.

The violations of the truce observed since August 31 are increasing in recent days and augur a resumption of large-scale fighting. More than 4,100 people, including 1,000 civilians, have been killed in four months of fighting since the start of the Syrian army offensive on April 30 in Idleb.
