The Ministry of Action and Public Accounts should experience a "total decline" in its workforce "about 5,800 jobs over the three years between 2020 and 2022," said Tuesday Minister Gerald Darmanin the five trade unions concerned.
This ministry, formerly known as the Ministry of the Budget, constitutes the heart of Bercy, with authority over the direction of the Budget but also on the general direction of the public finances, that of the customs and indirect rights, purchases of the State, the services of budget control, the fight against fraud, financial fraud (Tracfin), the agency for financial informatics of the state as well as the interdepartmental center of IT services related to human resources.
The decision is "the consequence of the implementation" of "transformations of magnitude to simplify the lives of the French", such as withholding tax or the removal of small taxes, explained the ministry in a statement, after a meeting with the five representative unions of the Ministry, Solidaires, CGT, Force Ouvrière, CFDT-CFTC, and UNSA-CFE-CGC. "In total, over the five-year period, the ministry will achieve a drop of about 10,000 jobs," says Bercy in his statement.

According to Philippe Grasset of Force Ouvrière, in the year 2020 alone, 1,653 job cuts are planned: "We have been announced 5,775 deletions over three years, between 2020 and 2022, to the ministry of Gerald Darmanin, including 1,653 in 2020". he said.
