Kotoshino rice pattern Expectation of “good” such as Niigata Prefecture and Hokkaido August 30 18:02

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced the current situation on the 15th of this month regarding the pattern and growth of Kotoshino Rice, and expects that it will be “slightly good” in major production areas such as Niigata Prefecture and Hokkaido if growth continues as it is.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries conducted a nationwide survey of Kotoshino Rice and summarized the growth status as of 15th of this month.

According to it, the “early field” crop, which is mainly in eastern Japan, where rice planting and harvesting are early, was seen lack of sunshine last month, but since then the weather recovered, the number of fir trees is expected to be higher than normal.

For this reason, it is expected to be “slightly good” or “normal” in many roads and prefectures. In particular, it is said that all major production areas such as Niigata, Hokkaido, and Akita will be “slightly good”.

In addition, in the “late zone”, which accounts for 30% of the harvest, mainly in western Japan, 18 out of 27 prefectures are “normal” and 9 are “slightly bad”.

This is due to the fact that the growth of stems that later became spikes did not progress due to low temperatures and lack of sunshine from the beginning to the middle of last month.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries says, “The pattern of the main production areas is good in the current situation, but it will be affected by future sunshine hours, temperature and typhoon conditions, so we will continue to keep an eye on it.”
