Emirates is poised to receive record numbers of passengers returning to Dubai after the summer holidays and Eid Al Adha holidays. According to the record bookings, the expected number of passengers arriving on the airline flights between August 20 and early September, will exceed half a million people, in addition to transit passengers.
Mohammed Matar, Senior Vice President, Airport Services, said: “The peak travel is now focused on arrivals and we have taken all measures to ensure our customers arrive in Dubai and complete all their procedures with ease and speed.”
Emirates is developing a number of services and initiatives to ensure that incoming passengers travel smoothly through the airport and reduce waiting times to complete their formalities. It provides wheelchairs for the elderly and people with disabilities, and strollers when leaving the door of the aircraft. Golf trolleys are available on request to transport passengers.
Inbound Emirates passengers also have access to smart gates and check-in at a record speed, where they can “scan” their ID or passport within seconds without human intervention or having to stamp their passport.
Emirates has allocated additional resources to handle more than 500,000 bags during this period to ensure the smooth flow of baggage and its rapid receipt from the belts. Prior to the flight, passengers will be notified on their personal video screens of the belt number on which their luggage will be placed so they can proceed and collect their luggage easily and quickly. Emirates also offers luggage delivery service for a small fee, where baggage is picked up on the belts, cleared and delivered to customers at home or hotel.
Emirates First Class and Business Class passengers arriving in Dubai have complimentary Chauffeur-drive service. Economy Class passengers can easily use the efficient Dubai Taxi services that await them. Passengers can also access the Dubai Metro directly from the arrivals area of ​​Terminal 3. The Metro service operates regularly from 5 am to midnight (Saturday to Thursday) and from 10 am to 1 am on Friday.
