Finnish court rejects environmental appeal against Nord Stream 2

The Finnish Supreme Administrative Court rejected the appeal of the Polish environmental organization Client Earth Prawnicy dla Ziemi against the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, Yle reports.

As noted, the court found that the procedure for assessing the environmental impact of construction relating to the economic zone of Finland was carried out in accordance with international agreements.

Earlier, the claim of Polish ecologists refused to consider the administrative court of the city of Vaasa.

At the end of July, the Nord Stream 2 operator company, Nord Stream 2 AG, appealed to the European Union Court with a request to cancel discriminatory measures against the project.

The construction of the pipeline is planned to be completed at the end of 2019.
