South Korea's low-cost carrier, Eastar Airways, has decided to suspend three flights between Korea and Japan because of a worsening relationship between South Korea and Japan, Kyodo News said.

Eastar Airways has decided to suspend operations on the Cheongju-Sapporo route starting on the 5th of next month, the Cheongju-Kansai route on the 6th of next month, and the Incheon-Ibaraki route on the 18th of next month.

All three routes are closed until the 26th of next month.

Eastar Airlines has decided to reduce the number of flights between Incheon, Sapporo, Kagoshima and Naha.

The Kyodo news agency said the airline did not clarify the reason, but it appears to be caused by the cancellation of a reservation by a Korean traveler who wanted to visit Japan due to the deterioration of the Korea-Japan relationship.

NHK told Ibaraki that the reason for the flight halted was that Ibaraki prefecture was "a deeper confrontation between Korea and Japan," and that the deterioration between the two countries seems to have affected.

NHK said regular flights between Ibaraki and South Korea disappeared after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, but then launched in July last year.

Ibaraki said, "I'm very sorry that I expected to increase the number of users from now on after one year."

After Japan's retaliation, there has been a movement to refrain from traveling in Japan, which has resulted in a case where Korean airlines stop operating flights between Korea and Japan.

Tway Airlines has announced that it will suspend four routes between Oita Prefecture, Kumamoto Prefecture, Saga Prefecture and Korean cities after the Japanese government's retaliation.

Korea Express Air suspended the charter flight between Shimane Prefecture and Gimpo on the 13th of last month.

Korean Air also recently announced that flights between Busan and Hokkaido Sapporo have been suspended.
