Sung Yoon-mo, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy, announced measures to strengthen the competitiveness of material parts equipment in response to Japan's export regulations.

We have decided to secure supply stability for 100 items, of which we have decided to stabilize the supplies in the 20th year within one year and the remaining 80 items within 5 years.

The top 100 items were selected in six categories, including semiconductor, display, automotive, electrical and electronics, machinery and metal, and basic chemistry, after industry review and expert review.

The short-term 20 items focus on diversification of importing countries and expansion of production centering on items that are at large risk of supply of eye insurance and urgent supply stabilization.

In the mid to long term, 80 items are vulnerable items in the industry value chain, items that require time for self-reliance, and items that require strategic technology development such as core equipment.

We intensively invest large-scale research and development resources in these core products and introduce bold and innovative research and development methods for rapid technology accumulation.

Large-scale R & D investment for core items is expected to cost over 7.8 trillion won over seven years.

We decided to launch a bureaucratic emergency response system to solve the one-stop problem for companies, establish a committee for materials, parts and equipment competitiveness, and restructure the material and parts special law to a full extent.
