According to the National Statistical Office, 64.9% of the elderly aged 55 to 79 said they would like to work more. 0.8% more than a year ago.

Job seekers were also linked to real jobs, with the employment rate at 55.9 percent, up 0.5 percentage points from last year.

The increase in the employment rate was 1.8 percentage points more prominent in the relatively older 65 and under 79.

In this age group, four out of 10 people were working. But the quality of work was bad.

The number of simple laborers was the highest at 35.4%, followed by 24% of skilled workers in agriculture and forestry fishing, and 18.2% in services and sales workers.

The increase in the number of elderly people who want to work is the main reason why retirement is not guaranteed.

In the past one year, 45.9% of pensioners received less than half of the pension, and the average monthly receipt was only 610,000 won.

Recently, government-led efforts to supply public employment for the elderly seem to have affected the job search for the elderly.
