This is stated in a letter to the management of the company NAK “Naftogaz of Ukraine”, which leads the publication “Ukrainian News”.

As European traders noted, the situation with the debts of Ukrtransgaz for the gas supplied for technical needs is disturbing, threatens the stability of the company itself and calls into question the security of supplies in the region.

"If the money is not paid in the very near future, this will lead to the suspension of commercial deliveries, resulting in the risk of a system collapse," the document says.

A consequence of the current situation, traders indicate, will be a decrease in the willingness of participants in the international market to invest in the Ukrainian energy sector.

The letter states that Ukrtransgaz did not pay for a long time and the gas that the company used above the norm, as a result of which a number of suppliers lost their incentive for additional gas supplies.

Earlier, Ukrtransgaz announced the threat of stopping gas pumping through the Ukrainian gas transportation system (GTS) due to accumulated debts.

Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz, Andrei Kobolev, explained the current situation with low tariffs and unauthorized gas extraction. He also pointed out in this connection that Naftogaz would not provide financial support to Ukrtransgaz.
