In Israel, a village dating back to the Neolithic period was discovered during road works. This is the first one dedicated to the breeding of domestic animals in the Middle East. But this discovery also calls into question certain religious dogmas.

It is one of the largest archaeological discoveries of recent years, according to officials of the Israeli Office of Archaeological Sites. It was the construction of a new road access for Jerusalem that uncovered this prehistoric settlement that stretched over land as large as Tel Aviv.
" It's a huge village from the Neolithic era, which goes back 9,000 years. There are streets and the testimony of urban planning. We can see that there was a very advanced management of agriculture. We found animal bones in large numbers. Including sheep and goats. The inhabitants were also hunters but the economy of the village was based on agriculture, "says archaeologist Kobi Vardi co-director of the site.
The excavations uncovered numerous architectural remains, including places of worship, burials, clay and stone figurines, and an abundant flint and obsidian industry. All dated to carbon 14.
These searches have repeatedly provoked demonstrations of ultra-Orthodox Jews facing the archaeological site. According to Jewish tradition, the creation of the world was only 5779 years old.
